El Rio Learning Center, ESOL Level 4 Class

Our Level 4 English Class at El Rio Learning Center worked on this writing project for several weeks. Students learned effective strategies for finding information on the Internet, how to take notes, and save online sources. Then, our class practiced methods of choosing a topic, narrowing down ideas to something each student specifically wanted to write about.

After choosing the topic, the students built outlines to organize their ideas, and wrote the first draft of an academic essay. Finally, our class learned the basics of HTML, the language used to build webpages. Each student built their own webpage with pictures to present their completed essay.
